Continuing his long battle against interchange fees charged to merchants by Visa
and MasterCard, Mitch Goldstone of
ScanMyPhotos.com, Irvine, Calif., is quoted in an article in today’s New York Times, and highlighted in a video on the newspaper’s website. Goldstone says the fees charged to retailers and passed to consumers in the form of higher prices place an unfair burden on small businesses, particularly during this economic recession.

“Visa and MasterCard have morphed into a giant cookie jar for banks at the expense of consumers,” the article quotes Goldstone, who is a plaintiff in a class action lawsuit against Visa and MasterCard.
