Tip: Use for videos once your photos are digitized

Recommendation by is a web application that creates MTV-style videos with the click of a button. Users simply choose a song and images. Animoto then automatically generates a unique video for them. No two videos are ever the same. Many of the post-production techniques that the founders used while working as producers for MTV, Comedy Central & ABC are used in Animoto's patent-pending Cinematic Artificial Intelligence developed to think like an actual editor and director. The resulting video is produced in a widescreen format, containing the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer. Animoto Productions is based in New York City with an office in San Francisco.

Traditional slideshows are meant to showcase individual photos that capture single moments, slowly transitioning between pictures one at a time. The guys at Animoto recognize that people have started to think differently about how they take photos with their digital cameras. They are thinking less like photographers of the past, who capture individual moments, and increasingly more like video producers who capture an entire experience through a series of images. Today it's not uncommon for people to take dozens, even hundreds of pictures at a time. Because traditional solutions like slideshows don't serve this way of thinking very well, new ideas for how to capture and share a whole experience are needed. Thus, the guys at Animoto are innovating new ways for people to share their stories and express themselves through media. They seek to bridge the gap between production value in what's seen with Internet video and what's seen in film and televsion today using the latest of cutting-edge entertainment post-production technology.

The company is scoring raves from the photo industry and beyond. Oprah Magazine just profiled the company and they made it on the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine.

This is a great idea once digitally preserves your generations of analog photo memories. Think of what you can do to instantly make amazing video presentations from those images.

Oprah Winfrey Would Love This Inspirational Saga, Explains

IRVINE, Calif.--(Businesswire)--Two ways to get Oprah Winfrey’s attention and be recognized as one of her “Favorite Things.”

1) Write a press release;
2) Have an emotional story that shares an innovative and affordable way to digitally preserve generations of photo snapshots

During a recent European trip, destiny greeted Mitch Goldstone and Carl Berman as they dined on the Greek Island of Mykonos. At the next table was Bernard LaChance, a charismatic Canadian singer who shared his story about creativity attracting the interest of talk show superstar Oprah Winfrey.

See links to Mr. LaChance’s YouTube story:

As an influential icon, Oprah Winfrey inspires millions. Her recent segment on LaChance was the type of emotional story of remarkable people with inventive talents that make people watch and cheer. The story is magical in a different way. It inspires other businesses not to give up during challenging economic cycles and threatening technology transformations. “By reaching out to Oprah and hopefully becoming part of her “Favorite Things,” our story can rekindle entrepreneurial passion by others to also reinvent and recalibrate how they do business,” said Goldstone, President & CEO,

As the photo imaging industry shifted from film to digital, many businesses closed - a lifetime of dreams dissolved. Rather than giving up, Goldstone and Berman, founders of a retail photo center based in Southern California, persevered. They rode the wave of change and expanded their retail photo center into an international E-commerce company that digitally preserves and shares tens of millions of photo memories. For just $64.00, they digitally scan up to 1,000 photos; the prepaid fill-the-box service holds about 2,000 photos and includes all shipping with same day return for just $149.95.

Just as LaChance captured Oprah’s attention, is hoping for an encore to also share its story on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” By embracing change and reinventing every aspect of entrepreneurship, made a comeback and inspires others to never give up. Goldstone regularly addresses technology and trade associations; in October he will be in Germany to share insights on how to reinvent the photo imaging industry, is ranked 16th on the Photography listing and was included as “The Best of LA 2009” by Los Angeles Magazine. David Pogue profiled in his “Personal Tech” column in The New York Times. Scores of other profiles are referenced on the Web site. The company has trusted KODAK brand products since 1990 and credits the Eastman Kodak Company with pioneering new ways to share pictures in today’s all-digital world. “We launched an entirely new business by commercializing KODAK scanning technology, KODAK Photo Kiosks and KODAK APEX (Adaptive Picture Exchange) printing to provide innovative new products for our customers,” explained Goldstone.
